Everyday, when you here something about climate change, its always about carbon foot print. What can you do about your carbon foot print?

You can think of your carbon footprint as how your daily activity affects the environment. Driving a car vs riding a bike. Becoming vegetarian than rather eating meat.
Its a choice, its a responsibility. Right???

What if I tell you that the term carbon footprint was made by an Oil Company. That’s right an Oil and Gas Company gas-lighting you that climate change is a personal responsibility. [Pun Intended]
The term “carbon footprint” originated from the ecological footprint concept, which was developed in the 1990s. The term was popularized in 2004 by the advertising agency Ogilvy and Mather, who were working for British Petroleum (BP).
The carbon footprint concept is based on the ecological footprint, but focuses on carbon emissions. It’s a way to measure the amount of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere by an activity or product.
The term “carbon footprint” was used in a BBC vegetarian food magazine in 1999.
Not to be a debby downer. Your personal choices in what you drive or eat have little to no impact. Societal wide change is necessary. Checks and balances on the fossil fuel industry is necessary.
Pressure your government to do something about it.
As in all things in life, some things are just out of your control. You are a product of your environment.
If you have no public transportation, do you really expect people to get out of their cars? If vegan alternatives are more expensive than meat, do people want to spend more in the name of the environment?
